Brake pad replacement

Did a quick brake pad replacement yesterday.. Dun have much time so didn't clean it,will do it when I got the time..

In case anyone here wanna DIY, here's a few pics..

Photobucket

Remove the 2 bolts with 12mm spanner

Photobucket

Pull out the caliper and unscrew the pin at the bottom with a 5mm allen key

Photobucket

Ditch the old pads.. Take note of the position of the 2 shims.. I took this pic b4 cleaning the piston, always clean them b4 pushing them back..

Photobucket

Photobucket

Clean and grease the 2 guide pins..

Photobucket

New pads.. All you need is to put everything back together..

Photobucket

Cut a portion of silicon hose from my daughter's fish tank.. Fill a little brake fluid to prevent air from going into the brake hose when u release the bleeding nipple.. You will need a 8mm spanner..

Photobucket

Wrap some cloth around the pump to avoid spillage.. Brake fluid can ruin ur paint.. Remove the cap pump out the old brake fluid but dun let it run dry.. fill up with fresh fluid till you see clear fluid coming out below..

Get someone or something to depress the lever b4 tightening the bleed nipple.. Pump the brake to see if you got good brake pressure..

This was how I did it, if I did anything wrong pls contribute.. I should have done a better job cleaning the caliper, but pads due for change and I didn't have much time to work on my bike..

FJ's Bike

Here's FJ's Steed VSE 400 it stealth flat black and Supertrapp pipes.. It's the same as the Honda VT 600 or VLX 600 that is very popular in the US,but with a smaller displacement.. I installed the rear lowering kit for him and it looks real sick.

Joran's ride

My mate Joran made a surprising switch from supermoto to this sexy Harley-Davison 883iron.. Gotta love those pipes.. Time to chop it up bro!

My bike log

So I'm trying to get into the custom bike scene.. been surfing the net on "Bobbers" and "Choppers" lately, well a little too much.. Most of the metals are either scraps or leftovers from the metal supplier that I got for a few bucks.. Parts are mostly from scrapyard.. It's not gonna be a crazy bike, but I do hope it'll turn out pretty decent if I ever get to finish it..

Custom turn signal

Drag bars made from scratch.. In the works...

Rear bracket for tail light and turn signals.. Needs more work..

Fiberglass and paint

Finished front fender

Still roll'in on 2 wheels

Haven't got the time to ride my BMX for a long while.. Have been spending my spare time learning on how to work on metal, plastic and paint.. Hope to get my own bike done up soon..
